Maha Shivratri in Bangladesh is also celebrated to appease Lord Shiva. The festival is literally referred to as ‘The Great Night of Shiva’. As per the most strongest of beliefs, devotees believe that Maha Shivratri happened to be the day when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati consummated their marriage.
